Led by the Institut für interkulturelle Kommunikation- Ansbach, Berlin, Jena as part of the European programme for lifelong learning, the multilateral international project »Multilingual Intercultural Business Cominication for Europe« has been running since 1st November 2009. Nine research insitutions from the following countries are participating in the project: Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Litvia, Estonia, Romania, Slovakia and SLOVENIA (University of Maribor, Faculty of Arts, Department of Translation Studies).
The central aim of the project is to encourage multilingual and intercultural business dialogue, which will help European citizens to confront the challenges of business communication in our diverse European society more effectively. Contemporary European language policies anticipate more multilingual speakers; although Europe will certainly become linguistically and culturally more diverse, it will also manage to retain its cultural identity.
