Mission
The Faculty of Arts of the University of Maribor works in the spirit of intellectual width, humanistic values, and active citizenship in education and research.
It shapes future teachers, professionals, and intellectuals through the teaching of a wide range of humanities and social science disciplines. It emphasises interdisciplinary cooperation and a holistic approach as well as active engagement with the local and regional environment. Through its activities, the Faculty makes an important contribution to the creation of Slovenian identity, and, above all, strengthens the values of human dignity, sustainable action, and intercultural dialogue.
Vision
The Faculty of Arts of the University of Maribor intends, through enhanced research work, international cooperation, and the introduction of innovative approaches in education, to establish itself as one of the most recognisable and reputable educational and research institutions in the fields of humanities and social sciences in Central Europe.
By encouraging interdisciplinarity, the Faculty will strengthen its role as a bridge between various scientific and humanistic disciplines, and will even more intensely engage in cooperation with the local and regional environment. In addition, it will substantially strengthen its commitment to the career development of students and graduates, with special focus placed on the development of their specific talents and personal career goals.
